FOOD!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>…

Whats your fav food and why?

I love lobster. I find it easy to prepare, and easy to digest. Also, I like making meat loaf and really enjoy cold meat loaf sandwich with mustard the next day. Turkey is great and versatile, and I can make leftovers all week long. Turkey fried rice, Hot turkey sandwiches, Club sandwich to name a few. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for cabbage rolls in a tomato sauce.

What are the steps involved in opening a clothing store?

I live in a small town that has several independently owned clothing stores. I would like to open a store that caters to a different demographic than what is already established. How do I get started? How do I obtain the capital to open and acquire vendors. What comes first?

You need a business plan complete with financial statements to get a loan through SBA. If you want to start right away, you need to rely on your own financial resources or credit until you can show stable income and financial statements with a good business plan. Banks like to see that you put your own capital at risk.

Start doing research on vendors. You will need fixtures, a building to rent/own with fitting room, location of business, account for sales taxes, insurance, utilities, do you need a cash register, determine whether you will accept major credit cards, what your markup will be over cost, advertising budget - radio, print, billboards, building signage, etc. You may need to hire somebody as well, depending on what hours you set. If you cannot afford to hire someone, be prepared to put in long hours as owner, doing everything, including cleaning the bathroom, bookkeeping, managing.

One thing, don't get yourself strapped into capital equipment and expensive inventory. It is better to start off small, do your homework, talk to your local market and find out what they want to buy.

I wish you success. I too have a small business and never have a day off.

What clothing fabrics shrink and which ones don't shrink?

What clothing fabrics shrink and which ones don't shrink?

What if it is 3 different kinds or half and half? Any advice in washing? I would guess hand wash may be the best besides dry clean?

Natural fibers will shrink. (cottons, wools)

Synthetics don't (polyester, acetate)

If you have a 50/50 mix then you should be able to wash as directed on the label.

*Also, fabric softeners won't work on synthetic fabrics.

Anything 100% cotton will shrink. If it is less than 100%, it will still shrink some. Use cold water to prevent further shrinking. Wool will also shrink, as Nellbelle7 said. Only wash it by hand or have it cleaned, depending on the label.

washing does not shrink fabrics

dryers do

hang them up to dry

It really depends on the garment. Some things are made out of material that has been preshrunk before they make the clothing. I always wash in cold water to make sure I don't shrink stuff. I do know that most things made of polyester or nylon don't shrink. Some cotton does if it's really inexpensive, but most cotton/polyester blends don't shrink much. Wool will shrink if it is put in hot water.

Cotton shrinks unless the label says it has been pre-shrunk.

If it is a combination, but the label does not say hand wash, then I would wash it in cold water.

I know 100% cotten will shrink. A cotton/polyester blend will not shrink.

It depends on the fabrics. Any garment should have washing instructions. Look for the label. Please describe the garment in detail. Is there any beading? What does the label say?

What are some flattering clothing types for my figure?

I'm 5'5'', slender, slightly small-chested, but I've got hips and an hourglass waist, and a big butt(it's true). What are some affordable clothing styles that would enhance my figure? Please only put apporpriate(and affordable) clothing types.

i think this look is really sophisticated yet also trendy and will flatter your body.

Get the Trinny & Susannah body shape bible - it's really good! (Or just have a flick through the section you need in a shop!!)

Or just read this website for a slightly less-detailed, cheaper option:

http://www.styleexpert.co.uk/DressingBodyShape.html

Skinny jeans and heels show off a pear-shape. I'm the same height and shape.

What are some cute clothing stores besides abercrombie?

I want other clothes besides Abercrombie and Hollister and stuff like that. Give details, like some pix of clothing from there. Oh and I'm thirteen, so nothin to innappropriate!

Plato's Closet!

It's like a thrift store but it only sells clothes. They sell all of the teen brands like Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Fossil, Old Navy, Wet Seal, Forever 21, and basically everything else.. Plus, it's really cheap. It was mainly to draw teens' attentions. I definitely recommend it.

Pacsun, american eagle, charlotte russe, hot topic, Old Navy...ah there are too many.

but you get the idea.

If you want stuff like Abercrombie, expensive, top of the line, The Buckle's good. A little cheaper, but still great, Aeropostale and American Eagle. Then, the awesome stores that are still affordable and cute like Wet Seal, Rue 21, and DEB, my faves! I'm 14, and those 3 have the styles without, like, going "over the top". But I've found that even Penny's and Younkers and stuff like that are good. I don't know how to show pics, so I guess you could search and see if they have websites. Good luck!

top 3

PacSun

OldNavy

HotTopic

american eagle.pac sun.old navy.charlotte russe.thats all i can think of right now.but i am 16 and i can tell you for a fact that if you like stuff like abercrombie but feel its too expensive these are the places to go! theyre better prices and very cute/in.hope i helped.

H&M

Urban Outfitters

Topshop

Dorothy Perkins

Miss Selfridge

Bay Trading Co.

etc

If you mean "stuff like that," would Aeropostale count? If not, Aero.

Anthropology is awsome!! So is Juicy Couture, American Eagle, Planet Funk, and other stores. Have fun, I'm a shopoholic!!

Karmaloop.com is the best option for you.

Not to mention, with code: DO6292 at checkout - you will save 20% off!

YOU CAN SHOP AT WWW.UPGRADEUFASHIONS.COM VERY CUTE CLOTHING SUCH AS TOPS AND DRESSES YOU CAN ALSO FIND ACCESSORIES AND SHOES. REASONABLE PRICES AND FREE SHIPPING

pacsun and delias also h&m does too

I have found www.trendiki.com is a site where you can see a slew of clothing by different designers, different stores- a total variety from shops/boutiques I never even heard of- but is really cool because you can find cool stuff that not everybody has- so you really stand out with great finds! I've had really good luck with the stores I've shopped from through this site. check it out. btw: http://www.trendiki.com/profiles/myprofile/0/jada

Old Navy?

Gap!

www.freepeople.com

its expensive, but from experience saving up money and buying expensive things that you really like is worth it because you feel better in them and they last a long time.

this store is so cute and girly but at the same time you look original, unique, and not a clone of all those hollister-wearing girls!

i suggest wet seal and DEFINITELY forever21 my favorite store ever, it might also be under the name of gadzooks or foreverXXI

hollisterco, aeropostale, american eagle, Plado's Closet, old navy, some at target, Baybrook mall, Bananna Republic, ectetra

on target and oldnavy

[go to women-juniors, or go to kids-girls clothing, depending what size you wear=]

[don't worry, im thirteen, too!=]

Alloy.com

this is a cute teen clothing online / catalog clothing store

aeropostale

pacsun

What would you describe as my clothing style?

i like alot of pacsun, but i love the clothing i love and i hate the clothing i hate. It's not based on labels. my favorite pieces of clothing that i own are my bright blue aviators, my white tee with a huge peace sign with bright colors in each section of the peace sign and my bright neon pink headband. i have long dark brown hair and i love shirts that have bright colors on them. i love to dress different but i dont know where is a good place to shop?

You sound kind of 80's to me..not the vintage side..the whole bright effect to it, which personally, I love!

You should look at some of Urban Outfitters clothes. They have fun and bright clothes that you can mainly find in the unisex section.

If you love the clothes at Pac Sun then keep shopping there. :) You would probably also find things you like at Tilly's, Zumiez, and The Buckle.

Charlotte Russe would have good accessories for you. [Headbands, bracelets, sunglasses.]

As for clothes... Wet Seal [possibly], Tilly's...?

Wet Seal, Forever 21, Urban Behavior, H & M

Nordstrom's BP section, perfect for you!

you style is whatever is "cool" at the moment

What is the most uncomfortable peice of clothing that women wear?

What, in your opinion is the most uncomfortable peice of clothing/shoes you have ever worn?

Spike heels .

Bra, ugh!!

bras! I hate them.

Bras. yep.

I especially hate them when you just got out of the shower!

What color of clothing should I wear to minimize the amount of UV rays penetrating to my skin?

Yes, I know that you get hotter in black clothing, and stay cooler in white clothing, but I'm wondering only about UV rays.

??????????

long sleves in light colors the uv rays may still get thru but not as much as they would if you were wearing dark short sleves its fact lame but true.

I don't think the color really matters, but the fabric can't be too thin. it has to be strong sturdy fabric

What types of clothing do people wear in Chili?

What kinds of clothing do people who live in Chili wear. If someone could tell me some sites where I can find types of clothing they wear, how much it costs and the conversion in american dollars. I'm also looking for types of clothig, price and sizes they come in and websites where I can find this informating. Thank you. Most descriptive wins.

sobreros and ponchos and cowboy hats.

What is the most uncomfortable piece of clothing that women wear?

In your opinion, What is the most uncomforbale piece of clothing/shoes you have worn or wear?

def. high heels. They aren't so bad when you're wearing them , except for the whole walking part and potentially twisting your ankle (done it numerous times) its the horrible pain in your foot once you take them off...i can't even explain it, except it feels like your whole foot as an awful bruise across the bottom of it.

Thongs for sure. I only wear them once in a blue moon, I cannot imagine wearing them every day like some women I know.

High heels are ridiculous, too, especially since they've been proven to do long-term damage to your back and all sorts of other nonsense but I wear them, anyway. >_<

Tights are the most uncomfortable.

Heels are just painful.

Bras just never seem to fit right.

And thongs are just disgusting. Why would any woman choose to walk around with a string up her bum? Yuck. Could only have been a man who invented it.

a corset! the ones that u pull from the back with strings... they used them to make ur body a nice shape and it helps ur form!

man those are a killer! lol

they used to use them a long time ago on a daily basis!

its ok like to go out.... its cute but they are really uncomfortable! u cant even really bend over haha

From the cursing I sometimes hear when my girlfriend dresses ... I'd have to say just about everything. Not to mention how long it takes to get all those medieval torture devices into place.

its generally high heals and sometimes bras with falling straps. none have mentioned about the scarf/dupatta which are very difficult to arrange and keep in position.

High heels are always uncomfortable, to me at least.

Otherwise, I tend to dress comfortably.

I think most things that women wear are uncomfortable lol.

High heels, thongs, bras, pads...

If you had said accessories, I would have said my ex's wedding ring. lol

for me it would be the bra since I am busty and cuts into my shoulders.

BEING A WOMAN I WOULD SAY A THONG!!! BUT ESPECIALLY A G STRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ITS LIKE HOW CAN YOU WEAR THAT TINY STRING IN BETWEEN YOUR BUT CHEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!

What kind of clothing would you like to see in your favorite store?

I'm a clothing and accesories designer and I want to make girls and guys feel great in their clothing.

For Example: A girl who may be on the chunky side and has big breasts...so she may want a dress that has more room in the middle area and a higher top.

Just Leave Me Some Suggestions.

Things that you see in Fashion Mags as they are often

hard to find and look much different "in person."

Where can i get good work out clothing for a reasonable price?

i am looking for some good work out clothing since i am in the need of some , mostly tracks any ideas?

Target's workout wear is really great and they always have some on clearance.

Old Navy also had a bunch of workout stuff on clearance

Ross baby!

I agree w/ target i always get cute & cheap stuff there

Why do nylon clothing always get static electric charges when I wear them?

I've never recalled having this problem a few years or more back, but I find that nowadays, whenever I wear nylon (especially basketball shorts, but also a few shirts and a basketball jersey), the clothing always gathers some sort of static charge. It feels really itchy and whenever i pull up the clothing, it always crackles... Any ideas on what's going on and how to stop this problem? I just hope that my body hasn't become electrically charged -__-...Thanks for helping.

It's just the nature of nylon clothing. Try spraying your clothes with StaticGard before putting them on. It does help.

I want to start my own custom clothing business. Do you have an tips?

In January, I am going to be taking night time course for learning to sew properly. After I am ready to give my clothing a professional look and quality, I would like to buy my own domain. Any help please? It would must appreciate it.

Congratulations for taking the first steps in creating your clothing line, I have written a couple of articles about this type of project on http://www.clothing-manufacturers.net

Yes, i definitely, recommend that you buy a domain name, buy it now so that it is already a few months old when you launch your collection.

At the beginning, why not use your domain as a blog where you can describe the challenges of building your brand.

This will give you the opportunity to network, find your market and get some help from more experienced business people.

Anybody looking to create a fashion line should take a look at:

This page is full of useful information about the clothing industry.

I am sure this will help,

Good luck,

What is vintage clothing and why would people wear it?

Isnt it like, old clothes? I heard it was popular, but y would people even wear vintage clothing?

vintage clothes are clothes from earlier decades which have been preserved & were in fashion back then i guess. People buy vintage because of its obvious uniqueness and some clothing pieces from like the 40s, 50s, and 60s are timeless and should not die with the wearers!!

i personally love the styles from back then and deffo like them better than the horrid and cliche "fashionable" hollister or abercrombie and fitch *gaggggg*

Vintage clothing is clothing that either looks like or genuinely is clothing from years gone by. Many people ware vintage clothing because many people find the classic styles nicer, more comfortable and more attractive to wear that the strict fashion rules and do and don't of today. Most large cities and some towns have a few vintage clothing shops and if you hunt around you can find very reasonable prices.

Vintage clothing are old clothes yes, but cheap and if you look hard enough, you can really find some great pieces. There are certain stores specifically designed for vintage clothes. Vintage clothes are popular because you get to revisit the past trends that are coming back in there original form. I love it. You can get adorable pieces for dirt cheap. Go to vintage stores at the beginning of fall and spring. Its when people unload their clothes they can't were anymore because the weather is not right. Who doesn't like that? The best vintage is usually in San Fransisco and New York.

Vintage clothing is old style clothing, yes. Some people like do dress in styles that were popular in the 70s for instance, but it's hard to find quality clothing made like that today so they'll go to a vintage shop. Others just like the idea of wearing vintage just as some like the idea of wearing name brand clothing.

Hope that helps

xoxo

because u r reusing a perfectly good clothing item, that a person in a dying country couldnt even dream about

and if any1ns noticing, all clothing places like abercrombie(yucc)and hollister(poser) have vintage looking- things

so y buy somehing that looks vintage, whe nu can buy hte real thing

Well it looks like it would be old

but allot of stores sells clothes that look like they would be from the vintage time and the clothes are new that is unless you bye it at a thrift store and even then allot of it isn't from the vintage time

Vintage is anything older than around the eighties. Have a look about on Ebay or visit a good vintage site like http://www.love-worn.com. to get a feel for it xxx

Vintage has always been in. Big Caroline Kennedy sunglasses, Audrey Hepburn dresses and leggings are coming back. Old fashions are "in".

its just the style it doesnt mean its actually old

but people would wear it because it is their style and they like it.

Vintage doesnt have to be used,

its just the style of them

A lot of people make vintage clothing

A LOT

vintage is old style clothing. not old clothes. its more of a classic look.

its the trends from 30 and 40+ years ago that weren't a disaster

because they like the style

because its freaking awesome!!!!

classic designer items for a cheap price, how can you go wrong? :)

What are good brands of clothing to buy?

I'm a crossdresser and I would like to know...

What are good brands of girl clothing to buy?

What stores can I buy girl clothing?

What type of clothes should I buy?

Please help me.

I think online is probably your best bet, because they tend to have more selection on sizes, and if you are feeling selfconcious.

The malls are good also, or you could try some out let stores.

As far as what type of clothing, It really depends on your body type, if you are slim, try more form fitting clothing, and if you are larger, more free flowing type of clothing because it is more flattering.

Good luck

Here are some good sites for a crossdresser:

for shirts: sewing lace on the bottom hem looks totally cool. beads and sequns look good by the top hem. especially in layering..

try the link below:

click on the first box for the ripped & bleached jeans part. lace and embelishments for the shirt part.

Well you could always do tie dye and buy a kit. Also you could put beads or jewels on jeans, tops, hats, and bags.

How do I go about opening a clothing store in a large metropolis?

My bestfriend and I have an idea about opening a clothing store in Detroit or one of the surrounding cities we have no idea where to begin. Help please.

What kind of clothing can i get to look like Hillary Duff?

I want to have the same style as hillary duff but i don't really know what that style is. i have just seen her clothing and like it a lot. wut stores should i got to? what pieces of clothing should i buy? what accessories should i get? thanks!

She seems to dress kind boho-preppy.

If you want to dress like her you should start with the basics, get some ribbed tank tops (wife beaters) to layer, she wears a lot of tunics with black leggings. She wears a lot of skinny jeans.

You could try shopping at stores like Urban Outfitters and Forever 21, where things are pretty good prices and look more unique, like they could be worn by celebrities. Just watch out for really weird things lol.

Or maybe look at pictures in magazines or online and figure out what exactly you like about her outfits or outfits other people wear and buy the things you notice most often.

Hope this helps!

poserrr...dont copy other peoples style get your own image and hop off hilary's ***!!

What is steampunk and how is its clothing?

I have a general idea about it, but the articles I've read haven't given me a full description of it.

Also, what type of clothing would associate with it?

Just curious =]

Steampunk's a style in its own right. It's usually associated with brown-tinged colours, and old fashioned styles. Old waistcoats and funky hats. It's loosely based on th Victorian era with more modern elements thrown in there.

How to Build a fashion brand or clothing line?

My clothing brand will be like burtons business model based around stylish garments, affordable prices and several small 10 by 10m shops.

I will sell through a on-line shop and retail stores with 250% markup from production to retail.

Any tips, advice, strategies or guidelines would be approxated.

Don't bother to be honest, people tend to shop loyally with certain shops and don't bother with new shops especially small ones like yours would be. Clothes shopping these days is all about brand and reputation, Topshop/river island/next/H&M etc will always rule the high street market because there well known, branded but at affordable prices to the average joe, they cater for most needs from work to play all in one shop. New shops don't last against the high street big shops. If your insistant then stick to the internet, start off by getting a good customer base on something like ebay then gradually build to your own website with better marketing. If after that your still in business making a profit then you can think about opening one or two shops, you have to start off from the bottom your trying to start from the top.

it's all about reputation.

you can't just put a ridiculous price tag on a piece of clothing you made and hope that it'll be huge.

You gotta start out small man. design and make a piece of clothing that is popular just between friends. You can start selling it online and start to get a name for yourself. Continue to design and produce and your name will get bigger. Continue to sell while slowly marking up the price of your products as your name gets bigger.

If you want to be big like versace, gucci or whateva, you gotta continue to do this, popular designs x correct pricing = success. Maybe in 30 years you'll be one of the big one's out there. But until then, keep to the drawing board.

How do you keep dark (specifically black) clothing from fading and streaking?

I have used detergent made for dark clothing, but our darks still seem to fade and discolor after the first few washes.

Throw a cup full of vinegar in the wash the first time you wash it.

There's a product from Coral specially for black clothes. Try your nearest Aldi supermarket

If you wash just dark clothes and not with pants -- pants fade shirts and etc.... it's good to wash them in cold water and to set the dryer on low it takes longer but the clothes dnt fade as fast

cold water and Woolite on the gentle cycle

wash in cold water inside out

1) Refrain from using harsh detergents.

2) Wash jeans in cold water -- DO NOT USE WARM WATER -- DO NOT USE HOT WATER as dye will fade tremendously.

3) Line dry the pants over a chair preferably in dim light. DO NOT LINE DRY the pants outside -- the sun's rays will also harm the dye in the pants and fade them.

Throw a bit of black dye like rit in the wash with clothing that is all black like cotton shirts or pants it will re fresh the color of your clothing and will not stain your washer.

Dont buy them

Hanging them inside out on clothes line helps .

try to dry them away from direct sunlight and a moderate heat on iron and wash them gently

on final rinse cycle add a cup of vinegar to water. It restores blacks and colors.

If they are pants turn them inside out before you washing them.Cheer makes a special detergent just for dark clothes.Always use cold water.

most things do fade in time, but always washing them and rinsing them in COLD water helps also

Don't wear it and don't wash it.

Dry cleaning tends not to wash out the color as well. If you can afford it and don't mind the smell you might consider it. It is also a polluter.

wash it fewer times to start with and when you do wash it, try shampoo and wash it inside out. If you air dry it, dry it inside out. If you have the time, hand wash.

hope i helped

Where can I find a clothing manufacturer in the United States?

My friend and I have been talking and we're interested in starting our own clothing line. We are both into style and clothes. He is very artistic and has done numerous things with his art. I am a business student at the University of Connecticut. We were thinking that with his art ability and my experience and knowledge thus far in business, that we would start small and try to start up out own clothing line. The biggest problem I am having is find a manufacturer. I live in Connecticut so finding one nearby would be helpful so I can talk to them in person. Help would be appreciated.

Look in to Usa clothing manufacturer on albhama.com; Men &Women Clothing Apparel I USA I-www.fortunefirstclothing.com; www.clothinglabelsusa.com;www.ruffknits.... ;

www.clothing-manufacturers.net;www.usa... etc

(this list is hundred thousand or so spread over USA

Honestly, there aren't any to speak of. The textile business in the US has shut down and moved to places like Mexico, Haiti, Bangladesh, and Vietnam.

The US is a big country - try the Yellow Pages.

What are the first steps I need to take to start a yoga clothing line?

I have great ideas for a yoga clothing line, I've got the name, designs and business cards , now what? I am not a business person. Do I take my designs to a clothing factory and have them make me samples? Then take the samples I had made to yoga studios and clothing conventions to sell?

first, you'll need about 6 miles of rebar. take a set of gardening shears, four pillow cases and a bottle of floda. mix the floda with instant concrete and pour into the pillow cases. set these aside, they will be used later.

now, with the gardening shears, start cutting 4 foot sections of rebar. insert the cut sections, four at a time, into the pillow cases of concrete/floda.

you'll be doing yoga in no time.

1. Find yourself a mentor.

2. Do nothing with your designs until you have professional advice.

3. Go work for a sports retailer. Learn from the ground up for 6 months. Competition is really tough out there.

4. Take your time, if you rush in, you'll get burned and probably very upset

5. Start calling yourself and thinking of yourself as a business person - no-one will deal with you if you don't

6. You need a business plan to take to investors (or the bank) to show how you will make money. Just preparing this will force you to answers all the questions that you should be asking like:

a) Who can make these items? Locally and globally

b) how much will they cost me including freight and duty if applicable?

c) for how many?

d) what will distribution costs and other overheads amount to?

e) how much will get spolied and stolen?

e2) what if they are defective?

f) who am I selling to? Businesses to resell or retail customers directly? Where do these people live, what demograpic profile do they have?

g) what makes me different from Reebok or any other established Yoga clothing seller? Why would people choose me? How do I educate them about this Unique Selling Point?

h) How much will I be able to sell them for? How many can I sell?

i) Will that make me enough money (after you buy the computer, new vehicle (image is important), offices, warehousing, secretary, website, hotel accomodation, brochures, travel to manufacturing sites and conventions) to live off?

j) Who will buy my company when I'm tired of running it myself.

k) How long until I begin to make a profit and where does the investment come from until then? Can I afford to/ am I prepared to put everything that I own on the line?

Just a few of the questions that you absolutely need to answer before you spend a penny on production.

If you are in the UK go to you local Business Link. I did and I decided that my idea, whilst exciting, was a total dud in terms of a money maker. Saved my thousands of quid and at least a year of my life.

By the way, a name means nothing until you've registered it and business cards...that's a bit cart before the horse in a very, very dangerous way. You need fundamental building blocks to run a business, cards are just the veneer, the coating. If you're good enough you can survive without cards, you won't survive without a full vision and a plan.

Don't try it. Apparel manufacturing is a complex, cutthroat business. Get some experience working for a clothing manufacturer in sales or marketing before you try it or you'll get eaten alive.

How do you get bleach spots off clothing?

I need to know how to get bleach spots off clothing without damaging and that really works.

You don't. Bleach spots are where you permanently took the color out of your clothes. Throw them away and count it as a loss.

nfd♥

Maybe using a dye. Once the bleach has removed pigment, I don't see how you can reverse that. It's not like the bleach is a white spot on top of the fabric, it's an absence of pigment.

well, dont use bleach, i eould recomend spray and wash spray, cuz it removes stains and then all you have to do is spray, rinse, then put in washer

You can not get bleach spots out of clothing. You are screwed. You can either replace the item or redye it the same color it is or you can toss it out. Sorry:(

You can't, but you could go over the spots with a matched permanent marker, which may (or may not) make them less noticeable. If it works, you may need to reapply after washing.

Actually, you can't remove bleach spots.........bleach removes the color from the item..................you can dye the entire piece of clothing, that's about it!

you can't - the bleach has actually removed the color from the clothing. The only thing you can do is try to buy some Rit dye and re-dye it

You can't

Its the worst thing ever.

Both you can't, its permanent

Where can I find fashionable clothing for petites?

I shop in the petites section, but have a difficult time finding clothes that are age appropiate (I'm 22), I need to find clothing that aren't geared towards an older crowd, but are suitable for youg adults. Any ideas on good clothing stores?

American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Old Navy, Anne Taylor, Aeropostle, Hollister... just naming a few.

target, a&e, abercrombie, old navy, tillys, pac sun, nordstroms or nordstroms rack, marshalls, ross, khols, and little random fashion stroes

go to the chinese malls

For business casual, but contemporary attire, try New York and Company.

For sportswear, Gap and Old Navy have Petite or Ankle length.

Also, try the Juniors section of my department stores, as they probably sell clothing, particularly jeans, with a 28 inch or 30 inch inseam to suit a petite frame. Other jeans that work well for petites are Gap (as mentioned above), Banana Republic, Jag and Caslon (the latter two can be found at major department stores).

Also, I love discount department stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx because they sell a variety of petite styles, so you can often find big, classic names in petite styling for less (like Polo Ralph Lauren, etc.).

There are loads try, top shop, Morgan, Dorothy Perkins, Next. good luck with finding so clothes!

How do overpriced clothing stores stay in business?

I walked in an urban clothing store the other day and everything was overpriced. I saw a Miskeen shirt for $90. WTF lol. Even clothes that weren't name-brand were high. And the owners wonder why noone shops there. I mean I'm just wonderin how they can stay in business like that.

Speaking from strictly an economics standpoint, if your profit margin is high, you don't need to sell as much as you would with a lower margin. For example, if your urban store sells a $90 shirt that it paid $10 for, it has a gross profit margin of $80. Now, TJ Maxx might sell the same shirt for $40, but it now needs to sell nearly 3 shirts to generate more profit than the urban store. So, basically a few suckers keep overpriced stores in business.

I went to buy something for a wedding gift because that was where the list of gifts wanted by the two who were marrying had it, I could have bought the same gift cheaper in another store I found, I would never buy from there again but there are lots of others who would shop nowhere else because it has a "classy" name,

The clothing is made in foreign nations where there is no minimum wage and no protection for the workers...so cheap.

And come on, isn't it obvious yet? There are millions of Americans with more money than brains.

Just look around to see the evidence of that.

Like American Eagle--they have NO right to price there clothes that high considering the material they are made out of are shotty. That annoys me!

god only knows

What happens to clothing that does not sell at discount stores, such as the goodwill?

I understand that the clothing gets circulated among other stores in a chain in the area (i.e. if it doesn't sell at one goodwill, after a week, it is transferred to another goodwill in the area). But what if the clothing just keeps circulating, and no one ever buys it?

Here is the life of a garment:

1. Department store

2. Closeout company

3. Clouseout store (Ross)

4. Many other discount and closeout stores and websites (the after market for clothes)

5. Thrift store

6. Charity or homeless program

7. Trash and landfill

they sell it to some one that ships it to 3rd world countries and they sell it there

I would ask goodwill, maybe they donate it to a shelter.

Bundle it into any recepacle and send to Africa.

To be sure of quick result, dispatch it to Nigeria via Cotonu-Benin Republic.

Search the internet to locate a trader based in Onitsha Market, Anambra State, Or Ariaria Market Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, Direct Trader to goods.

Ask your Shipping Agent to collect at Cotonu Port, the cost of shipment and a donation from Treder.

How does one go about getting there clothing in stores?

I have a skater/urban clothing line and i was just wondering how i would go about selling my stuff in stores. I would prefer not to open my own store just yet.

i think that you need to have a showcase or fashion show were you invite some stores owners or marketers to the show so they know what you want then you have to set up a meeting afterwards ( if they dont' come to you first) to follow up ..... the easiest way to get them to contact you is have a program that they get at the door with your contact info.... good luck

How do I get rid of strong Downy smell from clothing?

I purchased some nice children's clothing at a garage sale, but they have a strong Downy smell. I tried to wash them with our fragrance-free, hypoallergenic detergent. However, unfortunately, not only do they still have that Downy smell, but now, our other regular clothes have absorbed some of the Downy smell too! We prefer to use fragrance-free, natural cleaning products (to prevent allergies and to avoid harmful chemicals).

Thank you in advance.

Add a cup or 2 of white vinegar to the rinse water. It will remove the fragrance, any soap, and will not leave a vinegar fragrance. I prefer fragrance-free detergent myself these days.

Ugh! Don't you hate that? Try filling the machine with water and the clothes in question and add 1 cup vinegar. Stop the machine (don't let it agitate or anything) and let it sit for 24 hours.

Then add your detergent and let the cycle continue. If this does not work then simply put some baking soda on them when they are dry and let it absorb the smell. Put them in the washer dry with the baking soda; do not add water.

Also check out this online forum; they are talking about getting perfume smell out of clothing which is similar to your situation. =D

Wash them again and this time put 2 cups of white vinegar in the rinse cycle.Make sure you wash them in the hottest water possible for the fabric.

sounds weird, but try a bit of lemon juice. lemon is so strong it usually overpowers other smells.

How do you get those sensors off clothing?

I was in way too much traffic to make the trip back before christmas, but I really want to wear the piece of clothing.

Either take it back to the store you bought it from, or... take it to a different clothing store (one closer to home, with your receipt in case they ask for proof), and have someone there remove it. A lot of the sensor removers are from the same manufacturer and are therefore capable of removing sensors, even if it's from a different store.

Hope this helps.

you can get plyers and tear the two apart , or you can pull them with all your might and they ' ll eventually come apart : ) http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20061216070845AAc08Fu&kid=P81JL1v_CUmmoghHPQuK&s=comm&date=2009-04-05+09%3A24%3A32&.crumb=

I have no idea how I got out the door with a sensor on a pair of pants one time, but I had to drive back and make them remove it cuz it was going to tear the fabric if I tried to do it myself and I didnt want to risk it. BTW MAN, on your link I do not see how to remove a sensor; are you sure that is the right link? (the pants WERE paid for and I had a reciept, btw).

if you take it off yourself, there will be blue ink ALL over your clothing. this is what the stores fill the sensors with. just take it back to the store with the reciept

If you actually purchased the item, then take it back to the store (with the receipt of course) and have them remove it.

And what's the deal with 'man'...same answer to every question...I've already reported it...why can't these people have their accounts inactivated???

there isnt much that you can do because with some of them black ink will squirt out at you so the only thing to do is go back to the store or mabey u can try a store near by you that has one and just ask!

leave it on and walk into any store...

someone will come with one of those sensor undoers to help you

lol, if you didn't steal it and you want to wear it or give it as a gift, take it WITH THE RECEIPT back to the store. they will gladly take it off.

if u get it off your self it will ruin the clothing.... take the piece of clothing AND the receipt to the store and they will take it off for you.

doesnt that mean u stole it>

How do you start your own clothing line? And Become Big and Famous? ?

I'm into fashion and was wondering how can I start my own clothing line.

-Intern for a Fashion Designer

-Work under them for a couple years

-Draw some sketches of your designs and inspirations

-Pick out some fabrics swatches.

-You can sew your line/or hire some on to sew it.

-Present your line in a local showcase

-Present it in a show.

why don't you pursue it as an education when you grow up

How to remove tissue paper from clothing that was wash together in the washing machine.?

is there any way to remove those tissue paper which was accidentally wash together with clothing and was stain all over the washed.

Use a steam iron

you can shake them off..and then you one of those lint removers....also for next time..check every pocket..

u can shower off the tissue while the clothes is stil wet. it does the trick without any traces of tissue.

I shake most of it out of the clothes out after pulling it from the washing machine. If I miss some of the paper, I shake the clothes again and pick the stray pieces out after I pull the clothes out of the drier. For me, that has done the trick.

I'm lucky that so far, it's never been so bad that I had to put the clothes through the wash again.

What is the best choice for clothing when getting photographs taken?

My daughter and I are going to have our photographs taken just before the holidays and give them out for Christmas. What are some of the best ideas for clothing?

Avoid stripes, balls and checks. Less accessories and make up as possible (just to clean skin, bring back eyes and lips contour) Try to look (and pose) simple, clean, elegant and relaxed.

Black and white pictures are more elegant.

But what really matters is the expression, people who see the picture must feel you look at them with tenderness, that you love them.

So, have fun and be yourselves. Good luck.

Wear RED. It Pops...

Be creative... you don't have to wear sweaters to get your pictures taken. My brothers and I had our pictures taken as a Christmas present to our mother last year, and we all wore faded jeans and Mooneyes hotrod T-shirts. It might be kind of cute if you found outfits that were sort of matching, but still had holiday colors in them, like some kind of stripes or flannel. Good luck!

It's a good idea to know what the background is going to look like, so you don't either totally clash or blend in - my son went to renew his driver's license and unknowingly wore a shirt the exact same color as the background - his picture came back with just his disembodied head and his arms, it was pretty funny!

No white!! it washes you out!!

wear clothes that will have very good contrast, first to your body and then the environment

Electric bright colors, avoid whites.

Depends on the background you desire, etc.

Kool idea though.

Depends on whether formal or casual.....I disagree with other answers.........I have seen so many photos (all ages and both sexes) look great in blue jeans and white open neck shirts. It's a look that doesn't date, and looks good in color or black and white. I'm sure the family will love whatever you do!!!

Remember that you and your daughter are the subjects. You should wear clothes that compliment you and that aren't so busy as to be distracting.

I agree with avoiding too much white. For the texture to show on white fabric the photographer has to make sure to set his exposure to allow for that otherwise it is all washed out. The real problem comes in when there are also dark colors in the picture and the photographer has to try and expose properly for both. Red is nice for a Christmas picture as long as that is a good color for you. As was mentioned reds have a certain pop to them that help the picture stand out.

if your hot nothing, just kidding around. but really neutral tones are best stay away from patterns. white is ok you'll want to know what the background is first.

What kind of eye glasses and clothing styles look good on a short, husky balding man in his middle twenties?

I have a friend who has no sense of style and is not very good looking. He is in his mid-twenties but dresses like a older man. He has a round face and a balding head. He is looking to get a more modern style. He is very well educated and wants to look stylish and professional in spite of his bland looks now. What style clothing and glasses should he buy to accomplish that look?

1) Best way to determine what clothes look good on a particular person is to go into stores and actually try the clothes on in front of a mirror.

2) To find the right glasses, your friend can try on various glasses via the internet by doing a virtual try on. He will them be able to actually try on various glasses and see what they will look like on his face right from his computer. Optical4Less offers this cool feature. See link below.

For starters, if he is balding, make sure he keeps his hair cut short! The shorter the better, or even shaving his head - if you've got the right shaped skull it can look pretty sexy. As for glasses (I wear them myself) - take a friend to the optometrist and try heaps on. Some styles may look great on the shelf, but look really really bad once you stick them on your own head - and a second opinion is a big help. I guess the same goes for clothes, especially if he's unsure - a friend to go shopping with who has a great sense of style can help a lot!

To find the right glasses visiting optical4less and doing a virtual try-on is a great idea. I did this and it's really neat. :)

There are also a couple other sites that offer this capability.

Why don't you give your 'friend' some tips?

Queer eye for the straight guy him

Or extreme makeover?

Or santa crossed with a lumberjack

well, your "friend" should try wearing what suits his body type best, and square black rimmed glasses. jeans and a blazer is a classic look

How long should it take for clothing to ship from the uk to california?

Minimum two weeks possibly a month, it will have to go through customs and that puts you at the mercy of the government who does nothing quickly

I order a lot the other way, USA to UK and it takes from a week to two weeks.

Unless it's been held up in customs.

The UK postal service is absurdly slow as well

wow umm maybe 2 weeks. but it depends on if ur first class or second. and it depends wat kind of company ur using

How do I find Distributors and shops for my clothing line?

A friend and me have been running our own Boardwear clothing line since 2002 and we have had some success locally considering our small budget. We have decided to take it one step further and would like to do this full time. we are currently selling our clothes through a single shop in our Town.

My questions is, how do we get as many sales as possible quickly? How do we find International distributors and shops in the UK? Should we just attend all major Tradeshows?

Also, any tips on getting funding (e.g. investors, loans: private or business loan?) are appreciated.

Definitely go for the trade shows and sales, but be a little weary of investors as they tend to want to manage the business and push you out. Personally I'd go it alone as you can find loads of good contacts at trade shows.

trade shows are good, but I have other tips

if you want, send me an email to remind me

faq000@yahoo.com

i'll explain better..now i'm lazy

Take the route that the designers of the FUBU line did. The got pre-orders for their line and that in turn allowed them to get the money they needed to produce the line and get their products in Macey's among other stores. I definitely agree with the first poster you want to borrow as less as you can from a potential investor so you can keep total control over your own product.

Another idea is to hold a fashion show, strangely enough here in Detroit they do fashion shows for up and coming designers a lot and believe it or not they are really successful.

I am with the tart. The people attending the trade shows are actively looking for product lines, this is where you need to focus your efforts.

if you pm me i will give you a brilliant advertising medium

How do I get rid of germs on colored clothing like bleach does for whites?

Bleach kills germs that live in our laundry, unfortunately colored clothing doesn't have this same option...what kills germs as well as bleach, but is still safe to use on colored clothing?

A cup of white vinegar in your rinse water. White vinegar acts as both a disinfectant and fabric softener.

As a rule washing in warm water and drying will kill most if not all germs. However there are some that can take a licken and keep on ticken. If your really worried about germs you can purchase lysol concentrated liquid. It has instructions on how to use it in the laundry.I have used it a few times.Cant really tell you if it works as i have no way of telling if there are germs or not lol. There have been many myths about vinager working.Well here is the skinny vinger is acetic acid now as with any acid its based on ph on how strong it is.Vinegar has a pH value of about 2.4 now that will put the slow down on germs but not all.And further more it would have to lay wet on a dry surface for about 10 min to be affective. Now add say 2 cups of vinger to your 15 gallons of water that has a value of about 7 and you have achived about 6.7ph value.Sorry to say its not enough.A gallon might help some. But its not practical to do.Heat will do most of the job with a good soap like tide.In fact tide claimed for a while it killed germs in the laundry.Hot water and A good hot dryer will kill most anything. But its tought to sterilize everything 100%

The dryer will take care of it. Don't worry about germs. Besides, they are not all bad.

All you need to do is wash them. Don't obsess about germs!

What is the best item of clothing to buy in hawaii?

When i go on my vacation to hawaii...what kind of hawaiiany cute piece of clothing should i buy? Where should i get it? If you have been to hawaii and know of some great places to shop for stuff that u won't get on the continental US, please answer back.

check out hilo hatties and the abc store. since i no longer live in hawaii i tend to shop at those stores to get hawaiian print clothing that i can wear up here in washington. they are located on every island...i think...at least the abc store should be. you'll find shirts, shorts, skirts, wrap arounds, dresses, flip flops, bikinis...you name it...they probably have it. good luck and have fun! alooooha!!

THE beautiful flowered wrap arounds, every one wears{ for got the name} all the shops and mulls have them wear them many ways, the sale ladies are happy to show you, love mine and wear it a lot in the summer here at home...

Swimwear or T-shirts.

If you're looking for hawaiian print clothing at a decent price, I would suggest you take the free shuttle to Hilo Hattie from Waikiki. There you will find many different styles of clothes in many different patterns along with other souvenirs at decent prices.

You can check them out online before your trip at www.hilohattie.com.

You'll even get a shell lei when you enter the store!

Have a great time shopping and happy travels!

flip flops or sandals

A sarong/pareau in a pretty, colorful print

Rubber slippers ('Locals' brand)

A cute dress from Blue Ginger

A GREAT Bikini from Roxie or Wet Seal an a pair of Crocs SANDALS...NO not the Crocs Shoes...they're not too cute!

How do i remove hairspray from clothing?

I have a thin white cotton Guess? shirt i love, i was working on a school project and dropped a black felt tipped marker, leaving to little black dots. I immdietly googled how to remove them, and used hairspray on a cu-tip. the stains are pretty much gone. However, i then read that the hairspray can leave a gummy residue in my clothing, so i washed the area with cold water and left it to dry, what else should i do to ensure that the shirt stays in the best condition in can without any gummy patches?

Add a cup of vinegar in the final rinse...

Most of the hairsprays today are water soluble

If after the wash you see a stain baking soda will remove hairspray buildup.

Throw it in the washer with the rest of the clothes that need washing. Hairspray is not that strong that it will get gummy and ruin anything.

How can I start my own clothing line?

I have an idea for a clothing line but I'm not so great with the needle. How can I go about getting my ideas either on paper or get my ideas made?

- The best way is to have formal fashion design eduction.

else

- Buy fashion magazines regularly or watch fashion TV regularly

- If you are good at sketching just buy a drawing book and some pencils.Ask for 2H, H, HB, B pencils. You will need all of them for shading purposes.

- Start sketching what you have seen on TV or magazines. I would say make an exact copy

- Once you are confident about your sketching try variations of what you have seen. That dear would be your first design :)

- Keep your eyes open always. You may find inspiration even in your loo :)

- With time you will be able to sketch well. Once you are confident ask your local tailor to stitch it for you. Well you better buy all the necessary stuff for him/her; becos its your design and he is just stitching them together.

- Once your first prototype is ready market it to a small boutique. You got be perseverant here.

- Once they like it well thats the start of your clothline :)

I hope this helps.. if not google for "i want to be a fashion designer"

To start any new business you need a business plan

in order to successfully launch a new clothing line, you must consider a number of important aspects of apparel manufacturing and production sourcing including:

* Research

* Sampling and estimating

* Prototyping and manufacturing

* Domestic clothing sourcing

* Import clothing sourcing

* Garment finishing

http://www.startingaclothingline.com/html/how_to_start_a_clothing_line_f.html

It's not easy to start a clothing line from scratch, but if you are passionate about the clothing and design business, you can certainly do it. If this is your first time starting a business, there are many important facts that you should know because starting a clothing line isn't just about the clothes. There are all kinds of legal, financial and logistical hurdles to overcome.

step1

Choose a name for your clothing line, trademark it and buy the Web domain name for it. Domain names on the internet are being sold quickly, so make sure you buy one with the name of your clothing line right away. Also, you should do a trademark search for the name you have chosen to make sure there are no other business or companies already using that name. If the name is available, register it with the United States Patent office. Furthermore, register your business as a D.B.A. or LLC with your city clerk, and then get a bank account under your new business's name. These are all important steps to take before you begin to actually design and produce clothes.

Step2

Decide what type of clothing you want to make. Also, decide whether you want to mass produce or start by making a few key items. You can start by making casual apparel or sportswear such as T-shirts, sweatpants, jeans and other related products. Start out small until you begin to establish your name. Moreover, find a contractor who can help you launch your clothing line. Producing locally is your best bet when starting a clothing line.

Step3

Obtain funding. You may already have the necessary funds or you may have to take out a business loan. To get a loan from a bank you may have to put up collateral because, traditionally, banks do not consider clothing lines a safe investment.

Step4

Prepare your designs and pick out fabrics and materials that you will need. Give all of your completed and professional sketches to a manufacturer, seamstress, tailor or screen printer. Also, match each fabric to a particular design to make sure that the manufacturer knows what the final product should look like.

How do you get the smell of safflower oil out of clothing without ruining the garment?

I live in a very dry climate and read that safflower oil is very nourishing for the skin. I used it for about a month before I started realizing the oil was making my clothes smell. I've washed all of my clothing several times with hot water, cold water and strong smelling detergent but I am still unable to get the smell out. Any ideas of how I can get the stench out without ruining my clothes?

You might have already "set" the smell in by putting them in the dryer.

You could try to soak them in oxi-clean.

put some baking soda in a paper bag. put the shirt in another paper bag and put the shirt bag in the baking soda bag.

the baking soda will take out the stank.

How do you package to file clothing for the sims 2 without packaging a complete sim?

I know how to package sims and lots for upload to modthesims2, but how do you package just clothing without packaging the sim?

You don't package clothing like you do Sims and lots because there's only one piece to it. You just take the .package file (and the mesh files, if necessary or permitted) and submit that.

why don't you try going to the sims 2 body shop and modifying clothes and then edit the clothes and when you're done, press send. You might have to look for the package file somewhere in the hard drive. i'm not so sure on this part. anyway, good luck

How do I start out with clothing design?

I design clothing but I don't want to go into industry, how do I get my foot into the business, or begin to design for bigger companies, maybe sell my designs to labels or other brand names?

Try getting smaller business first. Try winning this kind of contests: http://www.contestcreative.com/news.php?extend.37

They give you money for each design. Great for your portfolio for bigger companies.

Good luck.

What shipping system do those fashion empires and popular clothing lines use?

I'm in the process of designing a website for my clothing line, but I have no idea what shipping system to use. I don't want to use one that takes days for the items to be delivered, I want one that offers same day shipping if possible.

Do any of you know what kind of shipping system the well-known clothing empires like Baby Phat or Gucci use?

Thanks a lot.

How do you promote a new clothing company and get into boutiques?

I'm starting a couture clothing company. How do I promote myself? I need ideas online and off the internet. How do I get into boutiques?

I would like to say cpm marketing is great you pay to display a banner on a website and it costs you from $0.10 to $3 per 1000 impressions which is very cheap. If your web banner is shown on 10,000 viewed pages it will cost you around $10.

For mens fashion trends to use as your designs ideas try www.mensclothingtrends.com.

Thanks alot

try to open up your own store or just go to stores make an appointment and show them what you have. You should try to set up a website and just put the name out there first, then you can show stores you have a backing.

Call them before you send them so they know what it is when they get it. Send it out and keep calling them to see if they got it and what they think. Just dont call too much making yourself seem as someone they'd rather not work with. Be appropriate and polite. There is nothing wrong with trying.

*Dont forget to mark when you see a best answer.

I'm thinking about storing summer clothing in an outside shed for the winter. Would that be an ok thing to do?

I have 18-gal. blue Rubbermaid storage containers with locking lids. My outside shed is dry. The winter's here usually are between 10 above or 10 below freezing. Would it be ok on clothing material to store it out there for the winter?

i would put the clothes in one of those space bags first! Even though they are in rubbermaid containers, bugs, dirt and dust still get in. At least if you put them in the space bags first it will protect them from all the elements and small bugs that will get in...I use them to store my clothes all the time now, and i store them either in a closet or my attic in the rubbermaid. its a very big diff. from being in the bags opposed to being in just the container...There is no smell of must, dust or anyother particals....Try them they are great and you can use them over and over again.

Tightly sealed containers will be fine.

1) Be sure all items are clean -- perspiration stains can become permanent, no matter where items are stored.

2) Be sure the tubs are dry. Using some of those silicon packets (that come in shoes and purses) will help to prevent mildew in case some moisture was trapped.

3) Fold items neatly, and don't overfill the tubs. Remember that after 4 months, those creases can become difficult to remove.

The fabric itself won't be harmed by cold temperatures.

Your clothes should be fine, those Rubbermaid containers seal pretty tightly, and the cold will keep the bugs and mice away.

you can get vacuum bags where you use a hoover to suck the air out.

NO! Unless you can be sure that the mice or whatever cannot get in, and they can squeeze into or chew into almost anywhere.

So unless you're looking for a new summer wardrobe --- don't!

Absolutely. Be sure the containers are covered "mouse tight" (tape the lids down with duct tape if they are not really tight fitting) and the clothes should winter nicely.

Bert

Sure I have done this every winter. They will be fine.

Absolutely YES. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have a shed that I store seasonal clothes in. I use the rubbermaid containers also and have never had any problems with critters or anything. They are great, we even put up shelves in the garage that will hold two containers stacked on top of each other and 8 across. We store everything either in the garage or shed this way and never had any problems.

As long as it is stored so the mice, or other varmints can not get into it, and no moisture. I think it should work, being cold will not be a problem, unless they get wet.

How do you get rid of the smell of mothballs on clothing?

We stored our winter clothing over the spring and summer. I put all my woolens into a tupperware container that was almost airtight, but not quite. I included a mothball that was inside three plastic baggies. Well, here we are a few months later and the clothes still smell horrendous!

We're not allowed to hang clothes where we live. Is there any other way to get rid of the mothball smell?

Try the dryer trick, but you may just have to re-wash all of them.

Next time, use cedar blocks instead of mothballs. It repels insects just as well and has a pleasant odor. Cedar blocks last for many years. If the scent dissipates, just sand lightly with sandpaper to revive it.

Through them in the dryer with a dryer sheet.

stop using moth balls, as that **** is old and died out in popularity in the sixties.

How do I get sticker residue off kids clothing that have been washed?

I have washed and dryed my kids' clothing with stickers on the clothing. It has left marks and discoloration and some paper remnants behinde. What is a home remedy to correct this?

This should be done b/4 washing but it might still work. Get a brown paper bag and put over the residue on the clothing then iron it with a warm iron. This heats the residue and it sticks to the paper bag. Hope it helps....

Try putting an ice cube on the other side of the material and once it gets cold with a razor, gently remove it.

Try some rubbing alcohol.=)

How can I start a clothing company?

I'm really interested in starting a clothing company, something that everybody can wear, no matter their body size. But the only problem I have is how to start. I've read tons of helpful articles (which were all boring because they were so long) and I just want somebody who can tell me in a couple of easy steps how I can get this company going. My friend and I would greatly appreciate the help.

Buy some clothes.

Sell them for more than you paid.

Hey presto!

Try making the clothes yourself, and selling them online. Unless you purchase big orders of clothes to resell them, you'll be making a really small profit, not to mention you'll be taxed pretty heavily - so you might not make much at all. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20061114180344AAJUiUV&kid=HoEtDEP8UEVcABYHhqra&s=comm&date=2007-11-05+12%3A55%3A16&.crumb=

How you tell what color clothing goes best with different skin tones and features?

I would like to know what color clothing would go best with a more tan complexion and lighter hair and also what colors would go best with fair complexion and darker hair.

Thanks!

I know fair complexion and dark hair. Winter color shades. Black, white, red, royal purples...

White clothing goes better with a tanned complexion.

What should I sell old clothing items and books for at my garage sale and how should I advertise?

I have tons of clothing and books, it's the bulk of the sale. It's mostly stuff for a teen, how should I advertise that on signs?

Good used clothes get $3-5, sell small stuff for $2 a bag. Books are usually $.25 soft cover, $1-2 hard cover. When you advertise uses "gently used" clothing, or "vintage" clothing in your add.

Advertise your business on free classifieds, relevant forums and social networking websites. Monitor the response you get periodically to find out what works best. From http://ad5.info

anything 5 bucks and down sells really good. Just advertise yard sale bargain hunters dream

What is a very rich clothing company that celebrities and athletes wear?

I want to know what clothing company is very expensive and celebrities wear it lot.Like very expensive and American or france.

In The End There Just Clothes Like Everything Else.

So Why Does It Matter?

LOL why? Wannabe? Whatever, BCBG, not designer but a lot of celebs shop at American Apparel and Urban Outfitters. Well, believe it or not a lot of stars are starting to wear some more cheap articles of clothing, like vintage or our regular everyday stores. Anyways, continuing, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etcetera.

Louis Vuitton is extremeley pricey but well worth it. If you find something AUTHENTIC from their store I'd purchase it. DG or D&G are both well known as are Armani, Bape, BBC (Billionare Boys Club) & Ice Cream.

are you serious?

Nike Sneakers (for athletes, they sell cute ones)

Armani

Chanel

Marc Jacobs

Coach (lol, not really)

etc. etc. etc.

why do you want to know this?

How do I make my underarmour (and similar clothing) stop stinking?

So I have a problem with a lot of my skin tight athletic apparel..Under Armour, Nike Pro Gear...etc..even after washing it retains the nasty BO smell. My other athletic tank tops and shorts do not have this problem, but only the rash guard type stuff. I've tried spraying it with febreeze, using febreeze wash, sticking it in the freezer...and it somewhat gets the smell out but the second it's worn and gets warm (and a little sweat into it)..it's back to horrible BO smell again...again my other work out clothing doesn't get like that. Any ideas what I can do (I have not tried dunking it in bleach for fear of fading the clothing)...and would prefer not having to buy a new top or two cus it's expensive. Thanks. If it matters I use the underarmour gear for submission grappling/wrestling.

~G

Wash it with baking soda in the wash cycle

Try Fabuloso. It takes the smell out of almost anything. It will take cat spray out and smoke out It's worth a try, good luck!

I have seen a product at Dick's Sporting Goods that is a laundry additive specific for performance clothing. I have not used it, but will probably try it because my bike shorts reek. Look for a detergent or additive with enzymes that will break down the stain.

I'd recommend baking soda and/or liquid fabric softener. Oxy clean may work but I do not know how it will interact with your fabric (fading, even causing it to break down faster, etc)

Try pretreating with Spray and Wash. Let it work for a while before washing. Using a detergent such as Tide Fresh Scents might help. Also try washing in hot water. This will help kill any residual bacteria. If it smells after you wash it, wash it again before drying. After it's washed, dry it immediately. Obviously it would be best to wash soon after wearing. It might even help to spray on the pretreat as soon as you're done using it.

If all this doesn't work you'll need to replace the items.

I cycle a lot and sometimes I get jerseys that look fine but just get to the point that I can't wear them after a while but at least I don't have someone in a headlock!

What is the best way to display clothing at a garage sale?

We have a TON of childrens clothing. last year we folded everything and put it on tables... That turnes into such a mess. Do you have anyother suggestion? like I said we have TON of clothing.

My sister and I just had a garage sale 2 weeks ago. We have 3 children between the 2 of us so we also had TONS of clothes. Your right it does get pretty messy with the tables. I've tried that in the past. The best thing to do if you can is hang it all up. People can look through it much better. What we did was buy some rope for like an outside clothes line. We got it either from lowe's or wal-mart, both places should have it. It is also cheap. Run it through your garage, tie it onto hook screws that can screw into the wall of your garage. Make sure and put the screw into a piece of wood so It can hold the weight otherwise it will pop right out of the sheetrock. Also make sure you don't make it to long without some support in the center or it will get weighed down to much in the center and all the clothes will slide down. If that's not possible for you to do you can always hang some stuff on the bottom of your raised garage door. I hope this works for you and I hope you sell out!!!

Using a metal clothing rack is the best way, just like a clothing store. People will look through it, but you won't have to fold them all over again. I borrowed it from my aunt. It looked neat and organized, too.

Visit lots of shops and as for their old hangers. Lots of shops dump them Then using anything like a brush handle suspended on string or ?? ang clothes. Hope you make lots of lovely money.

Hanging them on rail's is the best answer.

What kind of laundry detergent should I use for childrens consignment clothing?

I buy some of my son's clothing at children's resale shops. I bring them, wash, dry & iron the clothing just to give me the peace of mind that its clean & stain free. But you just never know with what the clothing fibers have. My question is: what kind of laundry detergent is best to wash clothing like this? What steps would you take to guarantee cleaniness of this clothing?

Thank you for your answers.

I use cheer or tide that has bleach in it. Use the hottest water the fabric will allow.

Just get one of the better ones like the oxyaction ones. They use oxygen to remove even more such as traces of blood. You could use a basic laundry detergent, plus a scoop of a stain remover for colours, and then if you spot any specific stains use a stain spray on them.
